    What a night!
The ride was fun, have to get use to the bike again as with the new shocks its a tad stiffer in the suspension and the cornering is definatly different.
One carb was running a bit lean as she was fluffing at idle, didnt effect top end power but didnt sound right at idle.
Discovered I had routed the Acc cable wrong and on full right lock it opened the trottle! Embarresing in company. But thats the easy fix of an enventfull night for me
    Didnt get home till 12pm+!
The XS went ok .....for most of the night!
1st..Lost power to my tail light, wireing fault..
2nd.. right hand side cover fell off somewhere between CHCH and home...FOOKIN HELL.It was only painted last month!Any one know of a right hand side cover to fit an Yamaha 79 XS1100F?
3rd...One head light decided to stop working from woodend , then came back on at the Omahi saddle.....Because my lights were falling over one by one it was a very slow ride home . I did not want to go anymore than about 50kph incase the other light decided to fail, out on the open road that would have been instant black out!!
4th ... The bag on my forks that contains the wiring loom decided it wanted to go on a holiday. Broke the strap holding it on. Cheap China vynal, need to get a real leather bag me thinks.
So all the fun of riding an older bike lol. things sometimes fall off, stop working or decide to just not do what they are meant to do.
But that gives the bike a personality.... and a night outside the shed cause I was pissed off with it .
but hey it still goes at the flick of the starter, so all those things that happened are cosmetic .Better than hitting the tarmac with ya bum
    Ride on!

Ha good to see she's out of the shed and on the road. Bit of a bummer losing the side cover through.
As you say the rest is just cosmetic

She was just shedding some XS weight - shame about the sidecover on the bright side it will probably turn up on trademe by the weekend.

Enjoyed the ride, though I may need to tweak the suspension after a couple of hairy wallowing moments on some of the downhill sections. But as said, no bum on tarmac so all good

Also looking forward to seeing the pics from the camera in the bushes - a site selected from experience methinks

Was going to post some photos up but once processed an aspect appeared that maybe a lens fault or something on the cmos .

Hopefully I can get some better shots next week.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

Last summer we used to sometimes have a bit of discussion regarding the destination before we turned up on a WNR......so suggestions anyone ??

Us girls cruised out to Oxford via Ashley Gorge ,in mid summer that would be a nice(but longish)ride.....& when the evenings are longer Greta valley is fun
Summit road?(quieten down boys!I mean in a while when the gravels gone!)I like that road - on both bikes

To paraphrase overheard conversations from the 'fast group'... "If it ain't got corners, it ain't got shite".

Me, I don't care, but anything that involves sitting still for ages ain't pleasant on the RGV. Oh to be a 5'6" Japanese teen.

Sounds like something is grinding-scrapping on the front. Checked and cleaned

the pads, bit low but all good .Thinking it might be wheel bearings, there is no

    movement in the wheel though?
