Well, at least I knew where I was going

But there was a lot of people who couldn't find neither Dyer's Pass nor Duvauchelles. Actually, only four people got there - and we did a couple of nice detours as well. Hooray for gravel.

Yeah, the light was quite awesome - something special about that evening sun peeking around the rear of a rain front. Banks Peninsula is a very pretty place indeed.

Will be good as we get further into the Summer with even longer evenings - then we can consider going over to Port Levy and either around to Pigeon Bay or over Western Valley road

Hell if it was that simple.....
Swing arm, All the exhaust system, the primary chain drive, clutch, both foot pegs and all the primary drive chain cases.

It took me almost 7 hours to complete the job.

Not that I come out on these often.. but to save bother why not write a long list of rides with various paths to each destination. Then just work the way down the list so the rides are even planned out months a head. Ie.. one week wheatsheaf via sumner and back through dyers. Then next week Ashley gorge is destination via such and such and return via such and such. Then maybe 10 weeks later wheatsheaf is on the list but via Gebbies pass and Sumner.

Does mean the "organisers" need to make up a list. Then you could even post it up on the first post with the date.

I counted 10ish bikes at wheatsheaf. good fire ,a beer. Spin a few tales , and home just on dark.

We went thru summner-lytt-wheatsheaf-halswell as planned. And other group went to duvauchelles and played night rider on the way home. Quess once evenings get lighter and warmer there will be less problems.

Anyway, when I put my earplugs in and my helmet on the plan was Duvauchelles over Dyers. I was slightly surprised to see a fairly large potion of people heading down Moorhouse towards Ferry Road. I gave you the benefit of the doubt though, thinking you'd consider the chosen route a bit too short...

Well after a late finish at work I managed to catch the group at the Wheatsheaf. Was glad to be out and about on Jessie.

I like the idea of deciding a route on here before we go. As for the Police monitoring this, they already know about the ride, where it leaves etc. They aint worried about us as long as they dont get to many reports about idiotic behaviour. I havent heard of it being a concern yet.

Which brings me to another idea. In welly, they have 2 rides- Wed Cruizy ride, and the Thursday-Real ride. Basicly the wed is for everyone just wanting a cruize, take there time, or are new. The thursdays was for the fast guys that want to go their pace, and not have to worry about a slow group. Phoenix said some guys would go to both, helping out those on the Wed ride, where some would only go to one or other. With the wed night getting so big it might be a way of spliting the group up. Thoughts?

For the Cruisy Wed ride us Welly lot always decide the route at the meeting place, often due to weather conditions (Rapa vs Coast) and how many L platers attend etc, but mostly because we enjoy the spontaneity of the last minute decision!
The Thurs ride mostly heads straight for the 'Tukas, everyone at their own pace (!) It is good to have the two options, as you point out, some folk do one, others do both.
