    Valve shimming

    Hi all!!!!!!!! im in need of valve shimming and have the manuel, any mech handy ppl wanna earn a bottle of spirits in helping me out? I cant afford the quoted 4 hrs labour atm , i have access to a garage and torque wrench really would like someone who has done this before .
    or any help would be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    plastic fabricator/welder here if you need a hand ! will work for beer/bourbon/booze

    Hey man sorry to be a killjoy here.
    you dont just need the time and the shim tool -you also need a supply of shims.
    How I do it is grab pen n paper and measure up all the valve clearances.
    Wright em all down.
    All the ones that are ok I scratch off.
    Then one by one I pull the shims out of the valves needing adjusting.--Noteing down what shims came from where.
    Then you do some shim swapping with the ones youve got
    with some luck youll only need half a dozen shims from mr yamaha.

    hey man i really want to do the same...

    How about everyone who wants to do their valve clearances get together and crack it together? Surely there are others who want to do their valves but are not sure? My garage can fit at least 4 bikes with working space.

    yea i know ive been down and chatted to the local bike mech, and seen inside one of these engines, he showed me the valves and shims , i kinda know wot to do i just really want some reassurance as this is my daily rider.
