John Key is a bloke who has made a lot of dosh by being good a reading trends and taking decisive action, I think he's learning politics very quickly and very well.

Some excellent work from the other KB:

If that means Politically Astute - I agree! But then so's Uncle Helen, and Winston.

I don't claim to like or back them all... but I certainly respect their abilities. I like Key personally. He's made it in the outaside world, and if he takes 1/2 those business skills into Govt NZ's going to be in for a tough but propserous time.

Tough on them taking more than they give... prosperous for the rest of us.

    Works for me.

Probably as easy to pose this question here, rather than start another politics thread:

So, with Owen Glenn due to provide evidence in person to the Privileges Committee on Tuesday and Parliament under urgency to ram the ETS legislation into the bent-over NZ public this week...who thinks Clark will call the election before Tuesday to prevent her own involvement coming to light?

Well, Whaleoil for one, and me for two. It's a bugger, but I'd love to hear what OGG has to say given that Liarbour have been smearing him all over town for the last week since he refused to donate any more cash to them.

I reckon JK should make him Consul to Monaco, for services to New Zealand in making sure we're shot of Liarbour and Winston 1st in one go

Just with Winnie. Very clever. Allows a coalition if Winnie is cleared and if not it sends a message to NZ First that if they get rid of Winnie they may still have a chance at a coalition. This would give National a partner if needed and get rid of the big embarassment that Winnie can be.
This is a very valid point Oakie - I should have been more careful with the wording of the poll but to be honest I was working from memory.....and as you know, political memory in NZ is very short........

Key has ruled out Douglas as a member of his cabinet so that effectivley gives ACT the bird. As for Key ruling out Winstone, it was the other way round. If I remember correctly it was Winstone as leader of NZ First who ruled out a colalition with Key. Most punters seem to have forgotton this and claim Key as an astute and smart politician. I hold the view that the NZ public has a short memory. By rejecting Douglas and Winstone, Key has reduced his options.
That is not smart politics it's dumb.

I still think Clark and Co will be back, New Zealand voters really suck! (IMHO)

Unfortunately because of them, we all have to suck on the same dirty jube. Hope I am wrong! John.
I hope you are wrong too, what is clear is that Clarkenstein and her fellow fruitcakes will stop at nothing to retain power.

Ah no, he's ruled Roger out as finance minister - not quite the same thing.

Not according to 3 News. Key has ruled out
Douglas in the Cabinet period. There's other links that say much the same thing.

    Media "bullshit" rules in NZ!

This country is getting politically sillier by the minute and like I said much earlier in the year, miraculously, the polls are closing up! John.

Yeh, well that almost confirms two votes for ACT from me this election, so far. Libertarianz next choice! John.
