I recon you should send the above letter to your local MP.Originally Posted by Rainbow Wizard

This was total BS, his name was embossed in 50mm high letters on a totally prominent position AND the serial number was also given to the Police. UNBLOODY-BELIEVABLE INCOMPETANCE >[15] Owner visits Regional Commander to complain > [18] Police verify vendor's description & place of work with me >[21] Officer to whom the burglary was originally reported verifies details to establish sufficient criteria exists to justify search warrant > [22] Item recovered.
I'm totally surprised the vendor hadn't quit or destroyed the item, denial is usually the first form of defence. I am also absolutely confident that had I not secured the bid and sighted the item the Police action would have been ZIP, despite the irrefutable evidence. But as we all know, leave your seatbelt (some of us own cars too) off or exceed the speed limit (read: exhibit an opportunity for revenue gathering) and they'll be on us like a plague. Boy have these fellers and their bigwig bureaucrat bosses got some damage control task in front of them!
