Hiya =) I personally can't reccommend my Kawasaki Ninja 250 highly enough. It's $7k and brand new. Compare that to a 17 year old bike with 24k's on the clock at the same price.

It's my first bike and I'm finding it great to learn on, but still keeps up with other bikes no worries - and beats cars off the line almost every time =)

The Ninja has heaps of power, isn't too heavy, turns lots of heads and looks a lot better than any other 250 out there - plus, beacuse it's brand new you get a warranty with it. A bike of 1991 you will no doubt have to do a bit of work on it to keep in good shape.

Just my 2 cents.. but I'd definitely reccommend taking a look at the Ninja =)

Ignore all the advice and get the bike you LIKE.

Be careful trying to tour with experienced people. Make sure at least one of them "gets it" and is going to babysit you.

    And welcome to KB.

    Yeah, but $7K for a 17-year-old 250? Tell the seller he's dreamin'.

Welcome to KB mate, here you will find a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw information and advice from. Ask about your first bike purchase. There will be someone that can look at the bike for/with you and offer opinion.

    7K for a zxr250 is pretty rich...

    Welcome by the way.

Just take your time looking for a bike. Dont rush into the first one you see.
There are bargins to be had... Just takes time.

    Good luck.
