He shaved off all his facial hair , swapped riding gear and bikes with a guy from Winton and got home OK.
Awesom Ride over the Lewis Pass - great weather and great scenery. Good rally site, good bands, good food - love those lamb shanks!! Met some interesting people - Scumdog and Feral included - hope ypu got the camera working feral, pity it crapped out at the wet tshirt comp!
Did anyone else see the naked fire dancer? Was it male or female - I thought female.
Great ride home but I ws knackered after only 3 hours sleep, but would do it all over again. One of the best rallys I have been to.![]()
A dog will do what you ask
A cat will take a message and get back to you later
My lips are sealed. :sly:
Decided it would be best to go home "over the hill"
Great ride home via Springfield, Night at Methven then on through the Lindis, Alex and home. Covered 1,500+ km.
Best run was 160km for 8.3 litres..and that included the Lindis.
Trip up was great, scared myself a few times, scraped bothe pegs on the road at different times, never a drop of rain, met some top-notch KBers at the site (probably due to no lunch or tea and a lot of wine they might not think the same about me!!) but caught up with Toddy, Manu-boy, Suzy-Q and Dangerous plus one or two other whose name eludes me (too much wine yer'onour) (edit) Hell, can't forget Feral!! - just happened to be leaving the site to go to the pub and was yarning to one of the guys at the gat (who use to be from around here) telling him about the trip up, as soon as I said I spent the night at Makarora this guy chips in "you'll be Scumdog then?" - it was Feral, very perceptive dude!
Never met R1 (Aaron) and believe he never fronted, pity, we could have exchanged 'notes'![]()
More late when I've unpacked.
P.S. Great pics from you other guys, top stuff!!

You forgot to tell the troops about the small misshap at the bridge and what did the Boss say Cheers Toddy
Ahh yes, "the bridge mishap", was following Hans the Hun and came up to one of those 4,000 or so One Lane Bridge Please Give Way bridges on the Coast (funny how they all have the same name) and Hans pulls out into the middle of the lane like the bridge is clear, me thinks "great, we don't have to stop this times" and start gunning it, next thing Hans veers to the left just before getting onto said bridge and stops - just as I too notice the hitherto unseen cage coming towards us.Originally Posted by hondav2
I hit the anchors hard and managed to stop short of Hans O.K. but of course was slightly out of balance and when I put my left foot down I rolled my ankle on the edge of the seal and down went Sporty, C.B. and me.

After a mad scramble to our feet and a bit of grunting we got Sporty upright again, a quick check showed NO damage at all!! I guess the saddle-bags must have saved it.![]()
Moral: ALWAYS check for yourself the bridge is clear - don't guess!!
B.T.W.,Hans just sat on his bike looking from mirror to mirror trying to figure out where we had gone! one second we were about 10 metres behind him, next second we vanished!
And the Boss Toddy? Haven't been to work yet so keep my fingers crossed eh!!!

Glad to see you guys had a good time, the weather looked great, I've just gotta get down to the south island one of these days, as for you and your speeding ticket scumdog, I spose it will be rather costly, I read the bridge incident with interest, I have a habit of taking things like that for granted if Pete is riding ahead of me, particularly if I'm tired etc, so thanks for sharing that little story, I'll be sure to double check all bridges!.
Ummm... actualy Toads when a copper gets pulled for the likes of speeding the issuing copper dosent fill out a speding fine, but there is another form to be filled out which i would expect goes to there boss, and if the boss gets to many of them, then words a more than likely swaped..... well thats what I'm lead to believeOriginally Posted by toads
but in this suituation I believe when the issuing officer saw the shiny metal thing that was decreatly shoved under his nose (while looking for the licence) the reply was "fuk..... get out of here" so costly....... na, try perks of the job
