    Gear in personal profile?

Just had an idea, maybe a good one maybe a bad one but I thought I'd put it out there.

If there was some sort of (searchable) section in your personal profile that you could put in what riding gear you were currently using, then when someone wants an opinion on, a particular pair of boots for example, they can search to see who has em and then PM them to see how good they are.

That sounds like a good idea to me, saves yet another "What gear should I buy" thread eh!

Good idea! Even better if it was gear and accessories/tyres etc .....that really would cut out a lot of "What XXXXX should I buy" threads!

    This certainly gets my vote.

I'd like to be able to sort the Members List by bike and you could have a tyres column in there so people can see what sort of tyres people are running on what sort of bike.

A specifications list for you bike? Sounds good to me,
That would allow searchers to find what acc will adapt to their ride .
Having an idea on what others run as rubber
Would be a very usefull data base for all to access when looking to repair or mod their ride.

    Thumbs up

Sounds good and would definitely prevent having to scroll through millions of posts or more of those repeat posts.

Yep, that'd be neat, so long as we could draw the items from a predefined list (like Teknic Leather jacket, Dririder jacket, Generic leather jacket etc. Would need a reasonable interface to allow adding things that weren't on the list, and then someone to maintain the lists to fix duplicates etc. That would let you produce a report with good stats though

Can we also be able to sort by those people who wave and those people who do not please?

Oh great, one of you will know. I'm looking for someone else who wears Drider gear. I've heard it's okay but what would be better? And gloves, I was gonna wear my ski glvoes cos they look the same as biker gloves and I already have them. Anyone else using their ski gloves? Yeah and I need new tires but can't decide between Michelin and Metzlers - what is your opinion? Which is the better tire. Lastly when you're topping up the oil someone said its better to put the cap back on the bottle before the bike. That way you don't contaminate the oil for the next change. Does that sound right? Geewhiz, so many questions. I hope one of you can help me out.

Actually come to think of it if we just added a category for everything we could remove all discussion from the site, thus removing the necessity for infringements. Shouldn't take too long to set up - off to work MT.....
