With that much preload, there will still be a lot of force in the springs when the forks are fully extended (it must've been hard to get the caps on) so when you're accelerating and there's not much weight on the front wheel, the suspension might be too stiff to follow bumps etc. Maybe that contributed to the front wheel letting go? If that's the case, you might need stiffer springs which would require less preload to get the correct sag.
Suspension isnt stiff anymore, was really stiff in the front end beforehand, felt like it was bottoming out, hence the additional preload and travel. Im no expert though.

Thank you KBs another awesome day. The sun came out and the track warmed up. Everyone sorted themselves out in the morning and the afternoon riding was excellent (on the whole!) At lunch time we did the "Major Prize Draw" and a regular trackdayer from Taranaki won the set of Conti Sport Attacks. We have another great major prize to be one by someone who attends any of the next four trackdays and Kiwifruit will post that on the web site next week.
I was in the control box when Benk did his second off on the same corner... he was so funny. We could hear his f..ing and blinding muffled only by his helmet, he stomped his feet, spat the dummy and through all his toys out of the cot. He got his Dad's bike out of harms way and spent the rest of the session parked up by the amco. Glad you are okay Benk.
Thank you again Goblin, Matt Bleck, and Kiwifruit for the excellent work you do.
    xxx Sue

Pretty unlucky to be the same corner huh! Can fix the bikes. Main thing is you're ok (apart from the bruised ego)

Looked quite strange huh? Was almost like there wasn't enough weight on the front so it slid out as the cornering forces started to come onto it. Wasn't that far over when it just dropped the bike.

I'm jealous as my camera had run out of memory when I lost the front on turn 5. Makes cool footage

Nice vids both of ya. So hope I can make the next one.

Took my girl out for her first time on a track. Think I frightened her a wee bit.
Had fun playing with Matt Bleck and DMNTD even tho I couldnt keep up.

Thanks to the MotoTT team for all the work you do.

Oh and turn 2 should be named Ben's corner. Really gutted for ya Ben. Hope your not too sore today and the bikes are easily fixed.

Hey Goblin, you were really smooth and rather fast- impressed the heck out of me with ya little effort there, glad you enjoyed it

Hell yes! As I was sitting waiting to start, I was looking over the bike but couldnt see any tread from on top of the bike so assumed they were slicks. You may well have another convert.
Thanks so much for the chance to try out a well set up, full on race bike! I was well impressed.

Moto-Dynamix is now a Continental tire agent!!! As I am going to race on them as well this season

Get in touch closer to the time ( Via PM or email or phone)of wanting some Conti's, and I will respond with a price for them

haha, must have looked funny. I felt like smashing my helmet on the ground, but managed to restrain myself.

Not touching the old mans bike till he has matching tyres and tyre warmers

Well as everyone has already said....AWESOME DAY! yet again the weather Gods shone down thier approval on the motott Trackday goers....although it was a tad cold in the morning.

As for my day I was well happy with my performance. My goal for the day was to ride smoother lines and seemed to achieve that so I was very happy with myself. I felt very comfortable out there too...and seemed to have managed to find a next level compared to my previous trackdays...all in all I'm very happy...bring on October's Motott day!
