Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Gee you had it good!!! Now in MY day there WAS NO TELEVISION!!!! Nor Atari nor anything like that.....when I needed a pair of shoes I had to go and catch my own cow first, then kill it, skin it, tan the hide into leather, cut it out, sew it up etc etc etc...and that ALL had to be done before the forty mile walk to school.....! Through the snow, through the avalanche, over the desert, swim the river, fight off the crocodiles, outrun the bandits....and that was in Hamilton!!!!....I could go on......

Well, depends where you were in the 80's- England had unemployment, Maggie Thatcher, YUPPIEs, shite "Frankie Says..." tea shirts... Oh, and none of the technical advancements that are around today- like CCTV cameras everywhere, electronic monitoring and all that

You guys had it easy! My first car had 8hp, two cylinders, rod-actuated brakes a 3sp crash box, a wooden frame, no water pump, a top speed of 38mph, (about 60km/h for you youngsters...), etc. Back then you were well off if your car had a heater and valve radio!

My first bike had a 4sp box, magneto ignition and a top speed of 117km/h lying flat on the tank! Oh and brakes? What were those? Often by the time I'd got it kick-started I was too exhausted and my foot was too sore to ride!

Pretty much everything you use and depend on today was developed in my lifetime! Didn't have a black and white TV until I was 13!
