    Noobie Angel

    I am one proud dad,
My daughter rode all the way to the Cold Kiwi and back on a GN250 after only getting her licence last week and getting the bike on Sunday night. Monday night after I got home from work a first ride of about 10km in the dark and wet was eagerly anticipated. This was followed up by a 120km ride Tuesday night. From these rides I knew that she would be able to do the Kiwi with an overnight stop on Thursday in Taupo. Friday we arrived at the site to tackle the goat track. After the first hill she stopped at the top with a look of abject terror stating that she would not ride down the next hill.

I was able to help her hone her skills by being able to talk her through what most of us have learnt through trail and error via bike 2 bike radio. Still has a way to go yet but she has done extreemly well so far. The camp site reached and set up we enjoyed the weekend. The ride home was pretty much straight through and in retrospect it was a bit long for someone who has had minimal sleep and too many energy drinks.

Though it was a long trip being exhausted yet contented Lydia fell into bed and slept through most of the next day.

    Cool story!
Wow, she has some courage...thats a long haul for someone so new to riding!
Now all she needs is her own log in..then we can give her some much deserved bling.
Its a preety cool feeling to be out riding with one of your offspring, eh?

Well...so much for having daughter around on fine weekends.
The best way of gaining motorcycle experience is DOING it...
And tell her to get some sun glasses...no need to squint, easier on the eyes that way. Glare can be very painfull and can cause headaches on longer trips.
