AND..this time of year can be ferkin cold!
Last Friday I took the Princesses ER6n for a ride from Dunas out to the farm and back - haven't been that farking cold in years.
The hot grips were great but I really missed the hand guards the Tiger and most adventure bikes have - I didn't realize what a huge difference they make. Without them the inside of my hands were warm and the outside was bloody freezing.
The airflow over that bike and my size meant I was getting the full wind blast about the bottom of my ribs and it didn't take long for the cold to be felt through my jacket in spite of the thermal liners - I don't know how you Harley riders do it in that legs apart "come fuck me" riding position. You must cop all that cold air in all the most uncomfortable places???!!!
Maybe thats why you only cruise slowly - nothing to do with scraping footpegs???
Having said all that the wee ER6 is a bunch of fun to ride and can really get into it when you give it a few revs
