I had a go on that bike during my recent bike buying quest (incidently, I ended up buying a '96 GSX-R 750 last Friday). The bike's not in the tidiest condition (i.e. rusty bolts + crash damage to RHS fairing - even has a hole in it), plus the guy apparently bought it with the front wheel caved in. I offered $6500, but he wasn't interested..

And i much prefer your 750 as it was a bargin.... how long before your wheelieing it like Death???

I also had a look at it in my recent bike buying venture. It also appeared to be dripping oil from somewhere. Must have cleaned it up by the time you had a look. He is looking closer to $8K anyway.

yeh i saw it and was thinking about it..... but then again i think i have something in my sights from a bike shop thats around that mark....... it's up your alley anyway. So what you think of your machine....


Also although rebuilt it might still be a bit dodgy under those new fairings aye

Went for decent ride today to Akaroa, went OK, think I need to ride it more like my ZXR400, ie rev the shit out of it more and keep it around 9000-10000rpm. Probably needs some dyno time to sort out jetting with carbon race can, either that or may fit standard muffler and see how that goes. Its a bit flat in the midrange at the moment.
