You need to be careful with their prices too

Booked with them from Melbourne back to Chch, thinking they were the cheapest.

Turns out the pricing was in Australian dollars - even though I was using the NZ website.

    Should have stuck with AirNZ

Thumbs up Finally, the customer is happy

    Ok, an update........and closure.

So they promised to ring me back last night with the details of the AKL - SYD flight. They DID actualy return the call and the flight were sorted. Only problem is we will have only 1hr10mins to get our bags off our flight from AKL, go through customs etc then we have to re-check our bags back in to catch a SYD to Coolangatta flight. I plan on getting to AKL airport early so we have seats up the front (wishful thinking?) otherwise it might be a bit of an 'Amazing Race' episode at SYD...... Oh well, Im always up for a challenge.

With the flights settled, the topic of compensation came up. I had asked earlier for a free seating upgrade (into the blue zone) and / or voucher for the DVD player etc. They had told me they could not do any upgrades..... This time they said they will give me a Pacific Blue credit to the value of $389 instead. Hmm doing the figures, we paid $900 for the both of us to fly over so its ended up being quite a cheap flight over and back for us. We will definately put that credit it to good use for domestic flights within NZ.

So with all the mucking around and endless time on the phone with the customer service center, the whole shirade has finished with me developing a better attitude towards PB. It is good to see a company looking after its customers when it has been the companies mistake to start with. (Becides, I LOVE flying so 2 lots of circuits and bumps in one day suits me fine )

Well done Pacific Blue. One happy customer.

Oh, that sucks. I fly there often to visit Dad, and as he has squillions of air points, normally end up doing the Auckland-Sydney-Brisbane route (using air points usually means bottom-of-the-heap). Instead of a quick 3 hour jaunt not much longer than it takes to get from my house to the CBD and back on a bus, it ends up being a 6 hour pain in the arse. They're normally pretty good if you've got a transfer though, the staff always make sure you can make it.

Mostly use Qantas because of the air points situation, but did Emirates on the way over and Pacific Blue on the way back once -- Emirates were fine, if a little run-down looking, but Pacific Blue was hellish -- they don't feed you of course, and the flight was delayed by a few hours, so when I should've been tucking into some home-cooked deliciousness, I was starving in a tin can next to other poor people

    The Koru Club isn't free.

You have to fly on a Air New Zealand operated flight to get into the Koru Club, and I refuse to do that out of principle.

Air New Zealand are a bunch of dicks.

make it quite clear when you check-in that you are short for time etc at the other end, see if they'll put priority tags on your luggage - that way it'll be off the plane first.
