Shame on the people who are bagging on this cop who DIED trying to protect everyone. The details don't matter, at all. He chose to be a police officer to protect and to serve all of us. That he died, is a loss to us all. I think it would be fair to say that NOBODY on here, except other law enforcement officers and the like, willing put their lives on the line every day, to help others.

When someone is breaking into your house, raping or killing you or your son, wife, husband, daughter, mother, father, call someone else. No respect!

It's not another martyred cop on a mission from god saving the children. It's someones family with no dad coz he knows better than the rulebook. He DOESN'T know better than the rulebook - He's DEAD because he was too smart for his own good. NOT smart - Dead - the permanent sort - the kind you don't get to argue about afterwards. Families need their dads, so cops sharpen up.
