Is anyone on here a computer technitian in Hamilton.
my modems packed a sad, tried the trouble shooting guide
but to no avail. my IPS said i needed a technition to sort it,
theres a restore program to reset back to its original
stuff but i've got that much shit on there that i'm gona loose
if i do this. might need a new modem but shes only a year or so old
so i'm hopeing its only something simple.

Any takers?

ADSL modem I presume? Do you know make and model? What exactly is the problem?

shit where to start, the pc's a nec i'd have to get back to you on model
i didnt know what a modem was till last night.

phone lines went down 2 nights ago, was fixed last night turned on computer
but it wont dail up "error 633" , phoned orcon they went through it with the missis over the phone to re-set the modem thingama jig to dail up but it wouldn't dial. we rang them back went through it again still didn't work,
they said the modem might be stuffed and we need a technition(but the pc is only a year or so old).
so i then jump on to the trouble shooting guide (for 3 hours), all avenues led back to ativating the modem stuff, which are already activated so now i'm at a dead end and i dont no jack about this kinda stuff so unless theres a fix that a simpleton like me can do i'll have to get a technition in, hopefully one that will do it for a box or 2.
the basic problem is that it wont connect to phone lines.
