THEN: Research scientist (medicine - never happened....)
NEXT: Teacher, Horticulturist.
NOW: Retired loafer

hmmmm let me see in order i wanted to be : firetruck, bulldozer (damn you transformers), eskimo, scientist, rocket person (don't ask), designer, bar tender and then a gun for hire.
i am now a glorified, educated, bored, salesman.......and anyone else who tells you "no im not actually a salesman..." is a really good salesman. I'm a crap salesman, as engineering doesn't tend very easily to money and sales.
i want to go back to design.....![]()
Reactor Online. Sensors Online. Weapons Online. All Systems Nominal.
Hmmm.. wanted to be an All Black (didn't know they weren't paid, back then), mechanic or a builder/sparky -tradesmen in the family had an influence, I guess...
Now... IT worker (DBA), after Twenty years doing all sorts of IT related jobs from Ops, to prod support to apps dev....etc
Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam!
Chopper pilot
Then I joined the army as a sparky, got stuck in an office job and am now looking to change to firefighter
"Not one day that we are here on this earth has been promised to us, so make the most of every day as if it was your last, and every breath ,as if it were the same"
I wanted to be a Fireman cause my mates dad was and he was always at home.
I became a Fireman and found out my mates dad always appeared to be at home a lot because he worked night shifts
I'm now a retired Fireman, looking for a bit of interesting Part time work and failing miserably.
I would like Big Dave's job but he's a selfish git and won't share![]()
Oh bugger
Initially I wanted to be a Private Investigator....thanks to the 3 investigators novels.
Then later on I wanted to be a computer game designer....cause I liked playing them but thought I could do better.
But I settled for database work instead.
Wanted to be a panelbeater. Got talked out of it 'cos a couple of carmakers built cars of fibreglass...looked like it might have become THE thing for cars, making panelbeating redundant.
Bad call. Ended up as an electrician and remained so for my whole career.
No regrets.
"Statistics are used as a drunk uses lampposts - for support, not illumination."
Then: I wanted to be a truck driver.
Now: CIO of a good sized American software company, and have had a couple of private companies that I have owned / sold.
I'm surprised no one has said .... "I always wanted to be....a lumberjack. Leaping from tree to tree..." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zey8567bcg
Me.
I thought I'd be a teacher.
I finished up being an HR / Payroll person. The HR side has similarities I guess.
Grow older but never grow up
I cant believe i wanted to be a parking meter man lol
only cos he got to ride around on a bike all day (and didnt have to ask his dad before he took it out)
Now another one of those bean counters
Bring on the weekend
I wanted to be an under water welder, but I would not have been allowed to based on medical grounds.
Went fishing as a deckhand for the better part of a decade then became a registered nurse. Then I messed it all up by having a serious spinal cord and got my marching orders from TDHB, once again based on medical grounds. Now Im being told that I would make a great psychologist, will seriously consider it if ACC want to pay for me to do it, otherwise I'll have to go back to being a general dogs body but disabled.![]()
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
Doctor, always!
getting there...
half way through now, well med school anyway
still another few years of being the junior and specialising.....no idea what speciality I want to go into!
All of the professions in here sounds really cool!
Oh FE I love your cheeky fun spirit.
I wanted to be a heap of things.
Initially I wanted to be wonder woman...but those shorts got outta style so quick!
Seriously though I wanted to be an elite Gymnast but my training went by the way side when we moved to Singapore and with all the heat I grew up got too tall and developed a generous set of boobsthe death of a dream!
Then I wanted to be a journalist but hated the having to pry too much thing that journos do so decided instead to take the photos...but I liked it too much and I found that photographing random peoples weddings get me down...boring!!!! Stopped enjoying it once I was being paid for it so gave it away.
Then I decided that I would join the army to get paid while I train...but they didn't want me due to my asthma. SO I did the course I had enrolled in anyway - Dental Technology...making dentures, crowns, bridges and noses and ears. Apart from the fantastic smell of acrylic curing it bored me stupid and I couldn't forsee living my life from a lab surrounded in plaster casts of the insides of peoples mouths.
Then I went into Learning and Development in HR - which I love....and I have come full circle because as a working mum with a full and busy life it seems I am still trying to be Wonder Woman.
My ultimate goal for 'when I finally grow up' is to be a kept woman! I think the official job title is BIMBO...yeah I could handle that. Now, how do I find me a sugar daddy
