Used to watch her every Friday and Sat night at the Broderick Inn in Johnsonville when she was in a band called Shiner!! Sharks tooth earing and all.

OH those where the days every bloke in the place was smitten or at least this one!
Lol. I used to live in Johnsonville as well for a spell. I moved to Wellington from Auckland. What a culture shock. Auckland with nothing happening and Wellington with all these live bands playing in parks etc. Bands that would soon be on TV. That was a great era for Kiwi bands that hasn't existed since. They produced songs that should have easily been on the international stage.

Do you remember "Stark Naked and the Car Thieves" and their remake of "Nice Legs Shame About The Face".

There is no way that PJ Harvey is a far better musician than Linda Perry from 4 Non Blondes as you say.

Linda Perry is an undisputed ROCK GOD. Don’t take my word for it. The whose who of music go to her for songs, music production and to get an edgier sound to their music. In addition to this she identifies talent and grows them.

She plucked a singer off the streets, produced an album for him and then sold it to the world in the form of James Blunt.

Pink went to her for song writing and production on her 2nd album. She co-wrote "Missunderaztood", and wrote “Get the Party Started” and “Lonely Girl” and produced the album.

She did the rock make over for Christina Aguilera and wrote “Beautiful” and “Cruz”.

Faith Hill’s “Cry” was co-written by her.

She has also done work for the likes of Jewel, Courtney Love, Gwen Stefani, Blaque, Sugababes, Lillix,Robbie Williams, Melissa Etheridge, Sierra Swan, Solange Knowles, Gavin Rossdale, Juliette and the Licks, Lisa Marie Presley,Fischerspooner, Unwritten Law, L.P., Kelly Osbourne, Vanessa Carlton, James Blunt, Cheap Trick, Ben Jelen, Enrique Iglesias and Giusy Ferreri,

Linda Perry Co-wrote every song on Christina Aguilera’s recent “Back to Basics” album. She worked with Vanessa Carlton on her “Heroes and Thieves” album.

Linda Perry is the undisputed “Go To” lady of rock and an amazingly talented muscisian recognised by her peers.

The one thing I am certain of is that the great rock edge coming from female artists currently is largely influenced by this lady. Where would current music be without her. She is the epitome of the rock artists that we look back to.

I also thought she did work for Avril Lavigne in her transition and one other well known lady whose name escapes me.

I don't know how one person can do so much work and have so much influence. Oh yeah, that's right, she's one of the most talented muso's out there.

Linda Perry - undisputed ROCK GOD.

Oh, and in youtube, look for a little box that says embed, copy and paste the very large text there, and as if by magic the youtube clip appears in your target website. cool!

I was going to post up the Promises vid but lets face it the whole thing looks better on a big screen. I reckon the RTR video had more close ups and them bouncing up and down big time. That or I had target fixation.

    LINDA PERRY IS IMMORTAL.

and I love Pink. She did a great concert too.

You have to remember she's dragging pop to rock. Without her we'd have... well actually I can't bare the thought of what would have happened.
