    It's only 1,000km, and well capable of being completed in daylight. Don't think about the whole thing. Instead just break it down into two-hour bursts. Six of those will see it finished. Easy.

    The GC will be a no way this year, maybe next. I have a few too many other commitments at the moment so the C1KC will be my lot ... and as of last night it is looking a tad less likely I may have to be at a scout camp that weekend.

    I'm keen, that's my birthday as well. Good way to spend it Prob cruise down to the Rimutex in the morning and break off at Palmy on the way back.

    The Bluebandito & I will be doing the same. Left around 5am last year and got there in plenty of time for a coffee...

    Hi all Does anyone know of some cheap accommodation close by I hope to come down and bring a few more with me.
    To do something well is so worth while that to die trying to it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of a life to do nothing with ones ability, for I feel life is not measured in achievement, not in years alone. BRUCE MCLAREN
