Shave my head!

Mini Fundraiser

My Niece, Cherie Williams is a caring, kind hearted young woman with a great sense of humour, who recently discovered she is also a victim of breast cancer. A few weeks ago she underwent surgery, and then after further tests, even more surgery.

You can imagine how shattering and horrifying this has been for her.

Next comes chemotherapy, with all its horrible side effects.
On top of all this is time off work, plus her medical costs.

Now for a different kind of scary:
Imagine me with a shaved head! (nor can I!!)

In an aim to raise $2000 to help with her medical costs, I will shave my head, to keep Cherie company and am asking for your support – in the form of any contributions which will go direct to Cherie.

In return you will receive “before”, “during” and “after” photo’s of my hair do. In addition, the largest contributor will automatically have the option to shave my head, should they so wish.

Having said that, any contributions whatsoever will be appreciated and will go a good way to help Cherie. Even if the odd person (that’s you!) puts some disused item on TradeMe with proceeds to help a really neat Lady in her time of need, that will really help.

Sounds like a worthy cause and a good idea, good on you shafty.

Why then is this in PD? Can we not move it to somewhere where it may actually get viewed? Cheers.

Hair comes off in a month and the venue will depend on where the qualifying contributor comes from (assuming they want to take their option to do the job!!)

Well done to you.Went through the chemo- radiation regime,not much fun,BUT what really brings it down to earth is the amount of females who lose their hair due to chemo,and guess what they don't care,most accept it as part of the winning process of beating the bastard(cancer),and considering their hair is more important to them than guys I found that inspiring.

As an aside txt dday to 883 for $3 donation folks.

Thanks so much to those of you who have very generously thrown some notes in to help with Cherie's medical costs.

My target (which I'll bloody well make!!!) is $2000, - a good contribution toward costs of around $13,000 which Cherie is dealing with along with the chemo and and the surgery and the scariness of the whole thing!
