    8th November 2008 - General Election

I'm gonna do the predictable poll thingumy since we have a general election coming up...however in an effort to digress from the norm I don't give a shit which party you vote for since currently Labour, National, Act and the Blow Smoke Up Winston Peters' Arse parties are all currently languishing in joint last place as far as I'm concerned.

No. I want to ask the real question on everyones mind.

What will this general election be won on.

    Policies?
    Issues?
Who ends up slinging the most irrelevant shit?

Real tax cuts would help personal and business cashflows.

Then the saving or spending is taxed indirectly anyway throught RWT and GST.

Raising the open road speed limits to 120km/h for motorcycles would be a winner.

Like previous MMP elections, this year's sham will be determined by deals done in smoke-filled rooms afterwards. There will be nothing democratic. The only certain thing is that we will eventually have a government and a policy framework that nobody voted for.

Eventually? Isn't that what we've got now?

Why bother having an open road speed limit at all?

Just substantially increase the penalties for "dangerous driving" and save all the speed detection money for more, better supported and paid Police.

This will give responsibility back to the individual driver for their behaviour on our roads. John.

Ban all political parties - have a forum of individually elected members....the ensuing cat fight cannot possibly be worse than what happens now......
