You guys need to do this.!!! Sth Island tour will be the best time away you will have.
early to mid March is the weather for it.
At the very least you'll have to go down the coast and then thro the Haast (what do i say - its fecken great ride). Then if you are still pushed for time you can come up from Wanaka.
But the full tour including southland and the catlins is WORTH IT.
Ok - Paul & co - I am in. i will be the West Coast tour guide for that part of the trip.
