    Maintaining the beast!

So, being a relative newbie to the KB and motorbike world i'm once again going to drain you all for as much information as possible.

I have a 2003 Hornet 250, had it for a few months and rode it up from Wellington to AK over a few days and have been for a few 100k rides since having it up here, with a few 'oh fook' moments along the way, everything has been sweet.

Just browsing on Tardme looking at shiney new bikes that i can get once i've my full license and read that people have changed the oil evey 3000k's and serviced every 5 or whatever.

when i bought the bike i didn't even think to ask "when should i change the oil" or "when should i get it serviced"

    so, i'm asking you guys.

    Chees all

if you can hunt down a workshop manual it should tell you all the service intervals

Changing oil every 5000kms and oil fliter every 10,000kms and using a high quality motorcycle oil is as fussy as you need to be. Other facets of motorcycle servicing such as sparkplugs and valve clearances can be checked every 20,000kms.

It helps to flush your brake system every once in a while too. I do mine once a year.

Dude buy a 4.0l of good oil and an oil filter--meander over here and I'll show ya the basic maintainence.
My opinion is ignore what last owner said. Give it an oil change so you know for sure all is good

Hi all, my apologies if I'm supposed to start a new discussion or something.

I'm after a bit of help. I have a 1992 Suzuki GSX600FN. Its engine seems to die on me occasionally when its slowing down (ie at lower revs). It starts again though. Anyone got any ideas?

    Red face Sorry

    Yeah, sorry about that guys.
I didn't know about starting a new thread for each topic. I'm blatantly new to this. My apologies.
