well i chickened out after the wild weather i encountered on the ride home from work...
so where did you guys go? looked like it was pissing down around 6pm...
A small group had a good wee blat up Whitemans valley and over to Te Marua. It was dry for most of it. Stopped at the bar in Stokes Valley for beer n chips. It was peeing down when we left tho and my ride over the Paekak Hill was one of the wildest Ive struck. Heavy downpour up the valley then major wind at the top...right in the clouds, visibility almost zero, high beam useless, (like shining on a white painted wall) and horizontal rain. About then my wets started leaking...usual place....got home with a wet butt.

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"
Bowls can wait !
After saying at the pub my cordura was waterproof by the time I got to bottom of Nauranga Gorge on the way home it was pretty well coming through. Very wet by the time I got home. Practically no visibility on the last part of the motorway either.
Still a good ride though
Wasn't prepared to brave ithopefully we can actually have a nice summer non windy evening sometime soon
Yeah that ride back into Wellington left me a bit damp too, the worst bit was when I was about to pass a car at Korokoro, just drawing level with said vehicle when it entered a flooded section, the bow wave hit me full blast and I coundn't see anything but solid water. Bit like my early attemps at surfing, but I did manage to keep it upright. Will miss the next couple of weeks through work so hopefully Sels1 will have the weather sorted by then.
Well....it seemed like a good idea at the time....
hahaha typical... looks like wednesday is the only rainy day this week...
hope the weather report is wrong as usual so we can go for a happy spin...
Looks like the weather is going to clear
Sels1, Sinfull and myself are meeting at Mobil at 5pm any other Kapiti riders are welcome to join![]()
Checked the latest forecast (which isnt much different to yesterdays) and that southerly is dying out and should be fine at the duckpond by around 6pm
However there will still be clag hanging around the Eastern hills so recommend heading to the West coast tonight. Raumati/Prm the best option, or Makara/ Karori maybe.
