I suppose hoping for sane changes to prohibition policies is pointless.
Imagine how much less work there'd be for yous fullas if certain substances were obtainable by addicts on prescription at reasonable cost.
The harm to society from organised crime's control of prices and distribution is far greater than anything people actually do when they're off their faces.
Still substantial in the latter case, of course (alcohol being the prime example) but it's just more manageable. And results in much less property crime.
