FOR SALE - Suzuki GN250

After shelling out so much money to get through the graduated licensing system, i need to top up the bank account.... have to sell my trusty steed.

In the year i've had the GN it's been over the takas about 10 times, whitemans Valley untold times & just about every street there is between here & welly in hail, rain & lightning + the odd sunny day in between, not once has she complained or given me an ounce of trouble.

Starts first time every time & never misses a beat...

Metallic dark Grey colour. Extremely tidy original condition so don't let her age fool you. Motor in excellent condition (uses no oil). This bike has been garaged all it's life, well looked after & well maintained = no rust & very shiny (as you can see). This GN Has given me 1 year of trouble-free & fun riding. Great beginners bike or commuter as very forgiving, reliable & cheap to run.

Recent new battery, front break pads, clutch cable & near new o-ring chain + sprockets. There are plenty of cheap parts about for these GN's & as a daily commuter you can't go wrong.

I am selling as i now have my full licence & wish to upgrade to something with big balls.

New WOF & 3 month rego.

Hi, I'm quite interested in this as a learner's bike. A couple of quick questions:
- What are the tyres like on it?
- Does it handle open road speeds ok?

Hi Felix, sorry for the late reply.

1) Tyres are nothing fancy, nylon & tubed. You have to ride to the road conditions & within the bikes limits (which we should do anyway).

2) GN's take a while to get up to 100 k's & when they do they can struggle to maintain it in a head wind. Sweet spot is between 80-90 km/hr but they are more than happy to sit @ 100 k's.

Some people mention getting bored with GN's, i can understand this especially if you're into looks + performance cos these bikes don't have either.

The breaks are superb + it's as nippy as hell, you can't really get into much trouble & if you do bin it there aint that much to replace & there's plenty of spare parts about.

Fyi these 2nd had japa GN's are cheap as chips + they are a superior build quality to the newer chinese re-makes that look good but seem to fall apart & rust. The money saved on one of these can be better spent on some good gear & you can always upgrade later on.
