    High-pitched whine?

My Ninja 250r has been emitting a high pitch whine after riding that I have discovered stops after the petrol cap is opened....? what's with that?

Could be that your fuel overflow is blocked and the tank is pressurising(sp) , does it phhfffttt when ya open the cap?

Sounds like my girlfriend -- only shuts up when we pull into a petrol station to fuel up as well.

It's the Kawasaki meow... we had a thread on it recently. Not sure why Kwakas do it and other brands mostly don't... Perhaps the tank vent isn't open to atmosphere, but has a low pressure release valve... not sure... but rest assured, Kawasakis meow, and it's normal.

Mine makes the same noise and I laugh at it everytime i hear it cos it sounds like whatever is in the tank is trying to get out with opening the petrol cap. It eventually stops after a few hours. I must admit this is the 1st bike I have heard doing it, so your not alone there. How are you enjoying riding it?, as now that I have mine run in I find it loads of fun and so easy to put into corners and not having to do alot of breaking coming up to them.

Does the whine increase in volume if you ride past:
    a) a Roosters player, or
    b) an Aussie Netball coach?
