All cops lie when it suits them.

Human after all, and they have an arse to protect and the head fuck the job does to their ego.

I read nothing to say anyone lied, I did read that the investigation was less thsn satisfactory, both at the time and futher down the track. They also say the matter will be investigated internally so the guy could still be in trouble.

However, "investigated internally" means that no one on the outside-ie the bloke with his name covered in mud, not to mention 25k out of pocket because he didnt just lie down and take it- will never hear the results. Is that a fair and transparent system?

I will be happy to be proven wrong, but I cant see the cops hanging one of thier own-and a high ranking lad at that- out to dry in the public eye

Fair comment although the police and other agencies have become a lot more accountable than they used to be''''''''''''''''''Gee I wonder if election year helps with bad publicity.
