    Question Exotic food in Auckland?

    Hey falks,

Does anyone know any places where I can try exotic food ?

i'm talking stuff that is not normally available in an every day grocery shop - i.e. Snake, frog, fried grasshoppers...

P.S. Even kangaroo meat I havent seen here

It's pet food. Mutton dressed up as mutton and foisted onto unsuspecting non-Australian tourists.

Great (the best) leather and good pelts. Apart from that - you shoot Skippy and feed him to Fido.

Croc is something astronomical like $150 a kg.. I think the roo's a bit more reasonable, but still shitloads more than most meat.

Star Cafe in Wairau Park, next to the motorway used to sell stir fry possum.
I imagine its similar to rabbit (which I haven't tried yet).

Overseas I've eaten better stuff like frog, goose, pigeon, and fried bees.

I eat it, and it taste good....cause the only thing with 4 legs we dont eat is the table!!

Dunno, I haven'y had roo for some years but it reminded me of ostrich. Done gently it was quite nice, overcooked it was horrid. Actually, my only pleasant memory of Nunawading in Melbourne was a little restaurant near the hotel I always stayed at which did a nice roo salad... can't remember the name of the place, probably gone by now.

Besides, wot's wrong with mutton, eh? Good tasty winter food, that.
