    Hot Goss

Met a guy tonight who is one of the head-honchos at Speedway Rosebank Rd, who tells me his brother, a road bike freak, is setting up a clone of the California/Eastern Creek training programme right here in lil-ol NZ. The venue will be Hampden Downs and is scheduled to be up and running by March 09.

I'll get further details tomorrow and will post.

But another thought occurred to me while talking to the first guy. I asked if there was any training facility for speedway, where bikes were supplied, etc. He seemed to think something could be arranged for a group.

Anyone apart from me interested? It seems a fine way to learn how to control a bike on a rat-shit (road-wise) surface.

I'll set up a poll to see what interest there might be.

There has always been rider training at Rosebank, wednesday evenings I think. They have club bikes for learners - Honda 185/200 powered.Rosebank started out as a practice track in the late '60's,and was turned into a full speedway track in the mid '70's.
