Angry 'Drunk' mum caught dropping kids at school

What the fuck is this shit?!!

So mumsie gets pinged for blowing three times the legal limit, right. Do they arrest her? Take her car away? Remove her licence? Nope. They say "Carry on dearie. We see that you have to get the kids to school so go right on driving".

Next day, same thing. This time she blows 695mg. Still they won't take the car away from her.

She "will be allowed to continue to drive until she appears in traffic court."

In the meantime the woman will be allowed to drive her car "if sober".

WTF!!? She's a drunk for chrissakes!! She's an addict who has clearly demonstrated that she is incapable of taking a warning and making sane rational decisions. She's not going to change her behavior all of a sudden because an authority figure has told her to. As such she is a danger to the rest of society each time she gets behind the wheel of a car, not the least of which towards her children.

Apparently police "had to work within guidelines and were not in a position to suspend her license or confiscate her car." Well actually I thought they had those powers but OK, maybe not....

Obviously not all the facts of the case are laid out in the article and maybe there are some mitigating factors here but it sounds absurd.

    Am I missing something here?

Welcome, enjoy NZ with it's weak-as-piss laws and putty-wristed judges with limp-cock sentences.

Ohhhh ... at a guess this chicky has been doing this for sometime now! And had been getting away with it!
What moron would get in the car, the following morning, after being busted the day prior, and do it all again??

Surley the first time she would have been carted down to the cop shop, after dropping the kids of at school, to be processed. How else would there be reading like that!
Alarm bells should have rung immediately having a reading like that at 8.30 in the morning!
But nah, morning ritual of skulling 3-4 glasses of wine to kick start the day and say "Hi" to the coppas again.
I hope CYFS get called in on this one.
This is a huge warning I hope she takes heed of before she skuttles her kids friends outside of their school, then have a lynch mob after her.
I pray she cleans up her act!

Live your life in such a way,
that when your feet hit the floor in the morning,

    Satan shudders & says....'Oh shit!....she's awake!!'
