    David's Round 5

Pushing the starter button resulted in a slight whirling noise then nothing, was not a good start to the weekend. With 20minutes to go before qualifying this is not what I needed!!!

After scrounging a battery charger for 10 or so minutes I gave it another go with slight more noises but still no go. Bruce who was pitted slightly down from me helped jump start it off his spare battery and it started and more importantly stayed going yeah!!!

Quickly heading off for qualifying I was hoping to qualify for 600SS. But between the battery issues, a helmet that kept fogging up making it hard to see and brakes that felt a bit spongy. I just couldn't seem to get into a rythm at all. Which left me too slow to qualify .

Fortunetly the Vic officals found a spot at the back of clubmans . Thanks guys.

Pulling the cover off my "maintance free" battery it would seem it needed some maintance . Topping up the water seem to allow the battery to hold a bit more of charge and I was able to start the bike for race 1.

    Race 1
I got a half reasonable start but stuffed up the 1st corner and about 4 people got past . After that I just put my head down and tried to pass as many people as I could. Hard to say where I finished as my results didn't show my position.

Sunday started off with needing a push start again. So think I'll be up for a new battery before the next round .

    Race 2
Got a pretty good start and set after trying to catch up with the clubmans riders. Can't really remember to much about the actual race except I couldn't seem to get either of the two left hand corners very well.

    Race 3
Cut down to 6 laps I really had to go hard straight away. I got a good start and set after the clubmans riders. No major dramas in the race but couldn't seem to get the hair pin right .

Over all I had tons of fun and was much happier with my starts this round compared to some of the earlier rounds but was a little bit dissapointed not to be able to get my laps down as low as I wanted to. Oh well - I'll try for next time . Might have to try and get to the pratice day for the next round as that really helped me last time I did it.

Thanks Vic Club for putting on another awesome event and I'll be back for the next round .

I've attached a copy photos thanks to Cowboyz.

Thanks mate. I've already got a spare tank & fairings so unless it comes with a free double garage I'll have to give it a miss. See ya at the next round???
