82mph wheelie results in 18 month ban

Steve Skilton, 22, from Southampton, has been hit with an 18 month ban, following being convicted of pulling a wheelie at 82mph (approx 130kph) in a 30mph (approx 50kph) zone.

Skilton – who also received 39 penalty points and a £600 (NZD 1600?) fine (plus £70 (NZD 185?) costs), was caught pulling the stunt on a forward-facing ‘Truvelo’ camera, believing the absence of front plates would prevent his being traced. Image recognition experts were called in, who were able to identify Skilton by his unique jacket, of which only two have been imported into the UK.

It was like the other guy over here in the UK, that was riding past speed cameras, flicking them V-signs or flipping the finger. He was caught out as his bike was one of only a few owned in that region...

Wasn't there another one where the bike had previously been owned (and customised) by one of the local cops?

    They call that a wheelie?

What a dork. That's not a wheelie . Most 1000/4 Owners would get the front higher unintentionally by just running over a flattened 20 cent coin.
