noise control have the power to seize stereo's if they are the cause of the noise

keep complaining and insist that they remove the stereo

Also complain to the council about the noise control not doing their job

Re the dogs on the loose - complain to the police that they are staging a dog fight

Keep a diary and keep complaining, if more than 3 of them have criminal convictions its an illegal gathering

Are all their vehicles legal? are they driving whilst under the influence / disqualified

What ever it is adopt a zero tolerance attitude, complain to the appropriate authority and make their life hell.

    The End!

Well after fighting these arses for 5 months through non-confrontational means we have success. They are moving out right now.

Things I have learnt from this experience:

    1) When the Police appear to be doing nothing much at all. They actually are. The local police have been great through this and i understand they cannot act without the grounds to do so.

    2) CYFS do act when you lay a complaint. They also gave me a follow up call last week to let me know the state of things.

    3) KBers really do rock. From the PMs to the two great KBers that put me up for a weekend after them next door threatened to burn my house down. The hugs and words of encouragement have been huge. THANK YOU!

    4) Get to know your "good" neighbours because its them that will be watching your back.

    5) We have the ideal conditions here to grow "green" plants

    6) You cannot sue the owner for his tennants behaviour.

There was a raid on the property yesterday and I wont go into details but I think it was the cause of them leaving.

Oh and I understand (rightly or wrongly) that police drug dogs cant smell pot plants when they are growing. Hmmmmm the police didnt go very far into the bush to find what they needed.

Maybe a bit of search and recovery is in order when they have totally gone

Outside earlier and could hear some music coming from next door. Now this particular neighbour is in his 80's, his office is opposite our deck. Its hot, he has the window open. While on his computer, he has music playing, today it was Whitesnake oh and a little bit of Tony Christee
    Funny thing is...I like both

New neighbours have moved in and are driving me to despair. They have been there a week and last Wednesday they were partying until 3am. OK thought I they have just moved in and celebrating. Never had any trouble around here before so its proabably a one off.

Friday night. The language was even too much for me - I thought I was back in Sarf Auckland. The young drunks in the street exclaiming how big their dicks are and what they could do with them was somewhat amusing for the first hour but....... A brawl started and I phoned the police. They turned up with a wagon and dog handler and were abused but left as it had kind of quietened down. They were still going at 4am.

Now last night they were still going at 2am. On the weekend they had visitors who had dogs on the loose. There were 3 and two appeared to be part pitbull but I cant be sure. I went to shoo them away and one turned and barked at me - in my own back yard. I decided it best not to progress any further. My cat meanwhile had headed for the hills.

It is now starting to affect my work as my lack of sleep means I am even more grumpy than usual and snapping at my staff and making mistakes.

I did a search on the property to try and track down the owner but he isnt listed (I am pretty sure he has rented to his friends). Tried to track his registration but I seem to have written it down incorrectly. Checked out the Council web site and cant find any legal solutions. As it is more raised voices and abusive language there is no point in calling noise control.

I live alone and am not keen on starting any crazy feud but am lost as to what I can do? Any of you lot got any suggestions that can help?

No I am not brave enough to go knock on the door as there seems to be a heck of a lot of them and I dont want to start anything that could escalate to a battle from hell
    Guns are non-confrontational aren't they?

    Thumbs up

Well done, MadDuck. I've been following this thread for a while now. They sound like nasty, horrible people. Well done for hanging in there and I am glad to see that the police have come to your aid. I know how exasperating it can be to have inconsiderate wankers for neighbours that think the entire world revolves around them. Glad you are finally rid of them.

Excellent news! And the little prick across the road from us leaves for uni (well, his mummy takes him down to Christchurch herself) on Saturday. I got one of his mates a beauty the other night. I was sick and tired of them doing handbrake slides out of their gravel driveway and spraying it stones all over the road - we were waiting to turn into our driveway a few weeks ago when a passing car threw up a stone and cracked our windscreen. I told the kid's mother and she obviously passed it on to his friends so they had decided to get their own back - one came out, backed back to where there was a pile of thick gravel between their place and the one next door, and spun his wheels as he left. I had found out who he was and where he lived a few weeks earlier so I rang and asked to speak to his father. He lives about five minutes away so I knew he wouldn't be home yet. His father was really apologetic and said he was at his wit's end with him, as were the parents of many teenage friends of the kid they visit. He said he'd get him to come and apologise but I said to just tell him the grumpy old cow across the road had had enough and was not going to put up with it any longer. He came home while we were still talking and his father put him on the line to speak to me. What an arrogant little arsehole he was too! Told me it was an 'accident' to which I replied bullshit as I had seen him do it three times. He wanted to know how I had found out who he was so I said I'd paid the money at the post office and tracked him down. "Oh," he said, that's sneaky, you are very sneaky" so I told him it was legal and if he had a problem with it, he could go to the police and tell them WHY I had tracked him down!

They have been a bit quieter this week but decided to act like idiots last night as they most likely think I won't worry. I still have his rego so if he plays up, I'll report him to the police this time!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

Madduck, I'm so pleased that you have a positive result! Well done for hanging in there, it can't have been easy at times.
So, is there a party at yours to celebrate and get rid of that green stuff you have recovered?

That is such good news MD. Sanity beckons.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
