hey folks...I am new here,thinking SERIOUSLY at last about another bike....had many in past years....getting bored with the car club,wanna meet up again with some enthusiastic RIDERS not apathetic DRIVERS.Which forum to use to discuss which bike to get??

What bike you should get depends on lots of factors. What your licence allows, what your budget allows, and intended type of riding (on-off road...or both). Before individual choice can be suggested (ie. sport, cruiser,tourer etc.).

If its a 2008 model you're after... the Honda ST1300 would be my suggestion. I know a few serious mile muncher's that have one, and smile when asked how they perform ... BMW on the other hand, do the job just as well... but with more bling, and cost more to buy.

Not after a 2008 model...I know the ST1300s are very underrated bikes.One of my last bikes was a K100 RS (also underated IMO), like the idea of the shaft drive(no maintenance or mess) and theoretically a twin will be cheaper to run and maintain than a four....

If you took a gander at the startline of any endurance rally... The K100 in all its various models, will be well represented. My preference is for a shaft drive. Just dont have one. The FJ1200 I have does the job, for now...
Most of the K100's will have done their fair share of km's(and then some) by now. The K1200's are a good price...and worth it...

Multi's don't work as hard and usually cheaper to maintain... if ya don't thrash them...

yep good points.A wise man once told me never to revisit old bikes..one may be very disapointed!I thought the big yammies were shaft drive now ??
