Honda is developing a petrol/electric hybrid motorcycle. The company has announced that they have developed a way of fitting a hybrid drive within the confines of a motorcycle frame.
Development is said to be far enough along the line that Honda could release the first production machines as early as 2010, for the 2011 model year. The aim is to have a range of machines from 50 to 1,000cc, offering an improved mileage by up to 50%.
Production costs will be kept down by sharing components with Honda’s hybrid cars where possible.
