Cables do snap... not just on RGV's. Such is motorcycling ...

No still learners unfortunately...I think I can get 6R in another month.
Ok so it sounds like ya got touched or got it cheap !
where ya are right now in life you could go two ways, dept or dirty hands !
You'd already have a Student loan would ya not ?

My 24 yr old is sitting at home 25 k in dept, babe in arms going oh shit !
Her career was looking good, almost up to the same income as her old man (who knew nothing by the way) so dept was not a worry !
Things change quickly, couldn't really say now is a good time to be getting further into it !
Enjoy ya ride, if in ten years you feel you never want to work on a bike again, buy new and upgrade yearly !

If ya wanna sell ya smoker i'll fly down and ride it home !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

OK then, there are other bonuses to getting the later model one. 17" wheels top of the list, saves money getting decent rubber, and '91 onwards look heaps better.

But prepare yourself that the next owner is probably gonna get all the fruits of the work you've had done, before ya sell it.

I do have a student loan and its going to be MASSIVE but I will end up with a good salary once I start working (though still another 3 years away) so Im not as worried about being in debt, and Ill be working full time over the summer so could probably pay it back easy enough.

And sinfull Ill be bringing it up to levin in november (if I dont get this other one) so you might see me round

Someone else said it sorry to repeat it. The RGV is a bloody good quick bike but it wears out fast. With 3 years to go before realisticly you can afford to replace the bits that blow either -A suck it -sell the RGV and get a 4 stroke "commuter" bike or B save that 2 k to invest in your current ride.
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?

No its all good...I am interested in peoples opinions
I checked it out today and to be honest I think I just got a bit excited over this mint bike which in my head I thought would be less hassle
I didnt even entertain the idea of spending the money I might use for this bike on getting my current one mint.
Its a very good idea and I think it will be what I end up doing because I think most the '91 RGV's are jap import and hence restricted, in that case I wouldn't get it

Personally I would look at the '91 with 17000kms seriously. Sure you've spent a fair bit on your old one but the newer one is probably a lot better bike. Get a two-smoker expert to check it out if possible unless you're a guru yourself.
