How exactly does longer conrods give you a longer stroke? Surely you need a larger radius crank for that.

Longer conrods will increase the compression ratio, as he says - as long as they don't put the piston through the head ...

    Eggzakery!

And as for the ninja keep it standard learn to ride it better. Treat it nice and enjoy it. You'll be repaid by better resale when it comes time to sell and you wont have wasted dollars on pointless engine mods.

Good call. In the meantime, see the time left as a challenge for how much you can ring out of your Ninja. Use your Ninja to become as smooth as butter, so you can treat that 1098 gearbox with the respect she deserves.

    Nice one,
    Dave.

Just bide your time I have had big bikes in the past too until I got caught $400 later I decided to get back on 250.

The old Kawasaki 250 still has a trick up its sleeve now and then.

Better to get your full and then have some fun.

Plenty of fun to be had on the 250's mate. No need to modify, any gains are marginal. Maximum gain to be had of about 10% without massive allround mods. In short don't bother, or if you get desperate. I've got a CBR250RR for sale, best tyres money can buy on it. PM me if interested. Otherwise I'll be racing it when I get back to NZ.

why does every monkey and his mum want an R1. Everyone i have ever seen on an R1 is slow as all hell. and dresses like a fag on the road. If your wearing full 3 grand race leathers, ride like you might need them. You dont need to be going ape shit but you should be going faster than a bike with less than 1/3 the power and 22 years old.

learn to ride cameltoe. There is nothing worse than people on flashy bikes (in full kit with full titanium exhuasts)riding it slower than most people ride a harley. As for the ninja leave it alone. If you think it needs more power your not trying enough.

If you need more power go get a 2 smoker or 400. either way one day you may be fined on one or the other (if the new rules ever happen). if you can afford a 09 ninja and still have enough left over for a 1098 in a year (or even two) i think you should have more than enough dosh to pay a few fines.

good call jrandom. if this guy goes from a ninja 250 to any sort of thou he'll be lucky to get round the first few corners (that extra 100+hp sure makes things happen quicker eh?)

Actually, I'm starting to suspect that he's a trolling alter ego. He's too good at pushing the buttons.

many a bike choice there buddy got to get the boy racer out of your system if you want to stick around on the bike thing. Why not a 650 twin to be had for $10000 in a deal. And talk to us about it 1 year from now. Crazy man.

I think what you really want is to chill out, enjoy your ride, and over time hopefully you will realise that 99.9% of riding enjoyment on the open road can be had on the awesome bike you already own, especially for someone in their first few years.

A high need for straight line speed and acceleration is usually indicative of someone looking for cheap thrills but it is ultimately a costly one in many ways, with the big bike purchase price, fuel, tyres, the high speed bins and brushes with the law.

Take what you want from the opinion of a relatively new rider who has done over 45000km on 250cc bikes, with no bins, no fines and who regularly rides with guys on 650+ machines.

Just read the post below - the young fulla is 16. The above is now irrelevant - as you were.

Im picking mine up tomorrow from the shop. First real bike, really looking forward to it. to answer one question the warranty on the hyo is defianately 1 year Vs 2 on the ninja. Im 183mm and only sat them both once but felt hell ov alot comfier than the hyo.
I just love these threads, next one will be asking if you're supposed to blip the throttle when downshifting

Power is nothing without control, whether you have it and whether you think you do are two completely different stories.
