    hey guys,
just wondering if anyone with a zxr could tell me which way the fuel tap is turned for on/off/reserve on a 94 zxr250? never have known and ive had the bike for about a year now, i think i was riding it on reserve all the time so i was damn lucky!

I think which ever way point forward. Mine has a little arrow just in front of the tap.

When you're down to the last few litres of fuel, switch between positions every couple of km as you ride along. The one where it cuts out is "on". Worked for me when the mechanic handed back my VFR750 one time with a cheery "wasn't sure which way the cables went for the fuel tap, so I might have switched over on and reserve"... Too complex Honda, too simple spannerman?

    Cheers,
    Andy

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

No, that is the "pri" or prime position. The ZXR250C does not have a fuel pump, it is vacuum fed from the carbs. If you run out of gas while in the "on" position, turning it to reserve would not drain any gas into the carbs until the bike was turned over. Turn the tap to "pri" and let it sit for 2 minutes, then it should fire. Now turn it back to "res" and ride to a servo. Never leave it in "res" position as the bike may hydrolock if left for a long period of time.

If it's like other ZXR's and GPZ's there are three settings. Looking at the tap from the left side of the bike 3 o'clock is Prime, fuel will flow freely. The ON is at 6 O'clock, and the reserve is at 9 o'clock.
Speed limits are just a suggestion, like pants.

So yeah what position should I switch it to when I turn the bike off? Should I leave it on PRI when I park it or should I switch it onto Res? It'll be so much simpler if it had an Off LOL

Just leave it set to 'ON'.
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!
