    Removing Ducati exhaust shell problem

Right, following the instructions here http://www.ducatisuite.com/superbikemufflers.html I've removed the end cap but no amount of bashing on a piece of wood has even moved the outer shell a millimeter. I don't want to damage anything so I'm a bit stuck.

Water? I'm worried that might form a glue instead. Leave it in the sun to expand?

$250 For that guy in CHCH to do a pro job of it and save yourself the pain.

I know Dave, I know. But its kinda fun having a go myself and if I can partly modify these standard pipes, I'll get a lot of satisfaction. Besides, Christchurch isn't next door.

I've read somewhere that the pipes can be opened up with a simple drill hole instead of the more radical gutting of the third chamber, so want to try that first.

Pipe is in the sun at this moment and the oven is looking good as an alternative.
