Was just watching One news and the article on efforts to improve and clarify issues around the reporting of rape crimes and how they are dealt with in court. What I can't work out is why, with a topic as potentially inflammatory as this, did they show a parade of women's backsides (anonymous women going about their business down the road) in lowriding jeans or at least with that wee band of bare flesh above the jeans? Was there some kind of hidden or subliminal message in that? Crikey, I know that news items frequently show examples of sections of the population being referred to in their article e.g. obese/overweight, but focusing of female derrieres????????? Did I miss something obvious?![]()
