Just finished watching the first episode, looks promising i would give it a 7.5/10. Anyone else watched this yet?

Bummer! At my dial-up speed it would be this time next year before I could watch it!

I may have a http link for the new top gear aussy ep if you cant torrent it. Send me a pm
just watch it on youtube like I just did...
as pointless as the english version, but without the humour.
The test of the new 911 was a complete joke - 300 out of focus views of the outside (not one view of the interior, apart from a brief angle of the PDK paddles)- and sales brochure crap about CO2 emmissions. Nothing about handling, performance etc. (i suppose they at least gave it a stig lap)
Tried to say a Legnum was a NZ Mitsubishi model.
Had a LP560-4 in the studio but didnt have any actual feature on it.
The "soft roader" test was fine if you knew what you were looking at, otherwise very little info about the vehicles, and nothing useful that would actually help a purchasing decision... but i suppose that's not the point.
At least Clarkson (even if he is generally wrong) has the balls to say he hates something...
Next week, Ford vs Holden... aw gawd save us!
...and I don't wanna die, just want to ride my motorcy...cle (Arlo Guthrie)
I watched it after it was put online, I thought it wasnt bad for a first.
Few things i hope they improve on. I think they need to show the differences between the UK version and the aussie one a lot more, Seems to be too similar.
The test track is crap, i dont like it. Everything felt very rehearsed, perhaps they were all nervous?
Perhaps work on the reviews, i was surprised how short some of them were. But in saying that, i think the reviews will be more relevant to the NZ market.
I'll probally watch all of them, even if they are crap. I'm a bit of a TopGear fanboy![]()
watched the second esp tuesday night
finally did a holden vs ford, but they did v8 vs l6 turbo, instead of v8 vs v8. But to even make things worse they wouldn't say one is better than the other. said this bit of car is better, but this bit of that car is better.
Donno how long it last, just seams a bit cheap/budget compared to the UK version.
I've now seen the first two episodes and I'm far from impressed. As a huge Top Gear fan, I reckon they were nuts to attempt to replicate something that's so successful. How can Australian presenters possibly be as good? Plus, The Hamster makes for nice scenery
They've tried to replicate the format quite closely, and yeah, the set looks identical.
The presenters are a let down with:
- Charlie Cox (middle) - a three time British Touring Car Championships driver taking the role of Clarkson. He's got such a boring sense of humour.
- Warren Brown (left) - a cartoonist for The Daily Telegraph pretending to be May and all sophisticated-like. He's completely out of place, in my opinion. And that bullshit with the Smart car hearse?
- Steve Pizzati (right) - an advanced driving instructor and race driver trying to be the young and energetic Hamster.
Like Bane said above, they say bugger all about the specs of the car and this is a huge let down. How do we know they're special if they don't tell us they're 100 times faster than the average Corolla? The Australian reviews are about as useful as what a Barbie could tell me. Clarkson is good at putting things into laymans terms, at least.
The humour is feeble in comparison to the real Top Gear and I think I laughed about twice during an episode. The UK version normally has me crying and teetering on the edge of pissing myself (I just really, really like their humour).
Their artistic filming works to the detriment of the programme. They've simply taken it too far and it's to the point that you don't see the vehicle.
I don't think I'll be going back for episode three.
Yep, very poor imitation of the Pommie Top Gear-3 BORING TRYHARD Twerps telling you nothing of interest.
Not long before the real topgear airs again.... As for top gear Australia i thought the 2nd ep was better than the first... still didnt get any laughs out of me tho
