    mella Yella --the story continues.

Ive been tossing up what to do re my racing but my little off at christmas decided for me that I had a shit load more to learn from mella yella.
So anyhoo I decided to fit the 444cc kit to it and generally freshen her up ready for racing early march at Pukie.
Gp motorcycles ripped the motor to bits and called me -He was horrified at the innards
it seems that the engine reco guy had broken one cam cap and without telling me had done a bodgy repair. NOOICE --the result of said bodgy repair was that the mating cam cap also broke. -the bits of metal then sucked down the cam chain and the particles found their way into 2 bigends grinding big chunks of copper off of the bigend bearings.
fuck only knows how it still ran let alone at the rpm I was pulling.
The fuckwit is saying that because the motor was used for racing there is no warrantee. -even though the cause of the problem is plain to see -There is no other wear -just the wear from the remains of the cap.
So Im now hunting for another motor to build up -this time a stock one.

Can't you just replace the cam caps and big-end bearings? Or is it likely that there's other (as yet undiscovered) damage? :spudwhat:
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

nope it seems the caps are matched to the cams and the bigends --welll --its bloody expensive. --anyhoo i just lashed out the big kahoona and bought a second hand motor--I really had no choice in the matter.
Fuck --For sale Mella Yella--$15000 --just to cover costs

haha, shit tony you sound like me trying to sell my RGV for about 10000 to recover costs.
I know exactly how you feel though, when ray pulled my engine apart he was pretty disgusted at the extent of the shortcuts people had pulled in the past, there was even roofing silicone holding oil in my gear box!
