    Termignoni are too loud

they sound beautiful, don't get me wrong, but daily travel is getting to be a pain. I heard there was some sort of plug you can get but can't fid pics or a website. any ideas?

Make your own or have a muffler shop make one for you. The attached is a picture of one out of a Remus muffler.

Basically the outlet size is reduced and the tube extends into the centre of the muffler - the gas gets to whizz around a bit more before it gets out the hole and shuts it up.

Measure the inside diameter of your outlet pipes (say 50mm) then get a muffler shop to take say 700mm of a smaller diameter muffler pipe (say 35mm pipe) and have them expand each end up to a outside diameter of 50mm ie so it will just slot into your outlet (if you take the bike in they could do this while you wait and check with the bike) it needs to be a neat fit so it does not vibrate. Have them cut this in half.

Take it home and insert it into the muffler (small end first of course) so the insert is flush with the end of the outlet. Note there is probably a hole in the outside of the existing outlet pipe - poke a spirit pen in this hole to mark the location on the insert - remove the insert and drill a hole on the marked location - this allows you to bolt or rivet the insert into the muffler.

Do for both (?) pipes and bolt the insert in.

Start the bike - try it out - if it is too quiet reduce the internal length of the inserted pipe until you get the sound you desire.

Get some caps turned up on the lathe. Just need to be a snug fit with a threaded hole for a screw to hold it in place.

Thats what we do with Ducati's that are too load. Works a treat and are real easy!

I think they're called ear plugs. You can get them at the chemist.
