    2000 sv650 hazard lights?

    Hi Guys
ON my SV when I put the hazzards on only the left indicators come on. However if I leave the hazzards on and then put the indicators on to turn right I then have the lights flashing in what would be described as hazzard lights.

Where should I start looking to trouble shoot this?
The indicators work normally and flash at a normal speed, both left and right.

Any hints on where to start would be great.. or should I just take it to a shop!

    cheers wysper

    Hazard light switch?

I know my 1999 bike doesn't have hazard lights. I just looked through the wiring diagrams for sv650s that I've got (admittedly none of them were for the 2000 model, they were 1999 sv650 and 2001 and 2002 sv650s) and none of them have hazard lights either. I guess that isn't much use to you...

LOL. No, but thanks for looking. I must admit, I was really surprised to see hazzards on the bike anyway.

The service manual I downloaded from the net doesn't mention hazzards either.

I might have to visit the SV forum!

The 2000 model SV650s, or quite a few of them anyway, are Jap domestic market models. Identifiable by having hazard lights, a headlight where only one side works on dip, and slightly smaller carbs. To the best of my knowledge, they were all silver in colour, too.

Hmm.. a good starting point would be the hazard switch itself. It is a double pole switch - that is to say it connects left and right indicators together, as well as turning the indicators on.

It seems the bit that turns the indicators on is OK, but the bit connectimg left and right is dodgy.
David must play fair with the other kids, even the idiots.
