Great day today..
Twas the 3 laxed bikes today (the laxed traffic lights, 1 green, 1 yellow & 1 red) i really enjoyed the company today with Mister Koz, Geeen, Mrs Geeen
Pity bryce couldn't make it today, We could have been the laxed M&M's
Good turn out in general for the Honda Riders club.. maybe close to 100 bikes at a rough guess
My submission for a possible ride to be considered and discussed upon.. there is street view there also so if you want to see what the road looks like at any point..

Wow so google maps actually does a good mapping service !!!
Dam wish i could have made it today, Laxed M & M's sound good as !!
Con Braccia E Occhi Aperti
Have you tried out the street view yet ???
You can check out almost any part of the road at 2.5 metres above the road at roughly 5 mtre intervals
Looks bloody good mani like all those roads there! will keep this link somewhere or re-draw it in motowhere.
Yeah we had the traffic light group today, was pretty coolwould have been good with a bit of blue!
Thats kinda creepy... a mate of mine found himself on that checking his mail...

Sorry the M&M riders have already been taken, trademarked, patented and copyrigthen (word?), so you can find you own bloody term(personal joke really)
You shall notice that I have taken the liberty to assess the above route. There are some discrepancies as of which I think shall be noted:
Exhibit A: You will notice the rough road structure and the poor road maintenance along part of the said route. It would be advised that these imperfections and irregularities should be avoided.
Exhibit B: It would be advisable, to in fact not follow the "little blue line" "around" this particular "corner". As you will ascertain in your own minds that the said "Little blue line" in fact is only a route option for those that believe in ferries, pixies, and are fraggles themselves (they have little wings and can in fact fly). For general consumption humans, the advisable route shall be one which deviates from the "little blue line".
Thank you for your time. I also expect, once the proposed route is choosen, a full analysis of the road surface be undertaken and any imperfections, noted and reported.
Bags not!

(Alright, I bloody forgot the pictures)
haha that was awesome! i went for a blast on a CR250R cross a motocross track. was great fun! those bikes are pretty rapid and kinda scary.. gave it a fist full and almost met a bolder.. stacked it a couple of times getting over confident. nothing major tho. haha
the laxed traffic light ride sounded good. geeen said it was kinda cool when the 3 of you parked up. i could imagine cause those bikes are pretty bright.

I rode almost the same route last weekend and again this weekend. Coupla comments:
1. The trip over the hill from Kawhia to Waitomo is made interesting by vast volumes of little blue stones all over the road and signs that say "ICE - GRIT" which I presume is where the little blue stones come from.....didn't see any ice though.....watch the driveway into the long black cafe at Waitomo...(bastard!)
2. The section East of Te Kuiti/Otorohanga is pretty cool with not too many patchings-up although there are some.
3. Your turn off Tauraroa Valley Road into Maihiihi Road is essential. I strongly suggest NOT going any further down Tauraroa Valley Road cause as I found out yesterday, it aint sealed and neither is Hoddle Road. Hoddle is clay so OK in dry, with spectacular views from on high but Tauraroa Valley is totally the pits..........although very picture-skew.....if you can take your eyes off the flaming gravel and the ruts and corrugations and holes and etc......
Should be a good trip. Might look at coming along. IF I can make the bloody shop work this week. Christmas??? BAH!!! HUMBUG!!!!!

Thanks for the heads up on that route.. it's been a little while since i was down the east side there of TeKuiti..
I was thinking of doin that route clockwise which would make the Maihiihi road turn right onto Tauraroa valley road, as like you said if you miss that turnoff your in the gravel..
Did you take Barber/Rangitoto Rd ? If so what's its condition atm ? And how much traffic did you come across on those roads ??.. the few times i've been down there they have been really quiet, which is what we'd want.
