Like what Ian said, I am just happy to turn up as I don't know the roads around here and I will never be up the front leading, so as long as I have an idea of where we are going, where we are stopping for coffee/lunch etc and if there is a turn off people wait for the group to catch up etc that sweet with me.

I guess because there are so many people that tag along we might need a bit of structure but i vote (if this is what we are doing with all this discussion) to go with the K.I.S theory - keep it simple. Someone has an idea and roll with it. I wouldn't imagine too many people wouldn't want to go on a particular ride just because of the desitnation, coz like we all seem to be saying, we just like to go on a ride with other like minded people, and the destination is just the bonus.

At the end of the day, I'll just "follow the leader".

And one other thing..... you all rock, I love meeting up and spending time with you ALL and also think it would be cool if we could have the odd sivvy dinner etc every now and then (seeing as we are missing out on the 6th (ckai (cameron) and I)

Sounds like an excellent trip will have to sus out the dates closer to the time although it might look a little weird my Japanese sports bike spitting fire with the american choppers i will have to brief the family down there but i expect things would be all good anyways.

Try not to buy cheap memory cards, i got some transend ones that work a treat. Main thing to look at is the write speed of the card, the higher the write speed, the better.

The quality of the card itself is really important because i have lost photo's and had to repair a damaged video or 2 (good thing i am a nerd) from crappy cards that have been doubled - wont go into it - the $30 - $40 mark for an SD card is good or flasher.

I wouldn't buy a thing from PB tech i got the trancend gold one for about $100 (4gb) and it was marked "for video" its about sustained data rates. the cheaper brands quote the Max data rate.

Welllllllll - I have had pretty reasonable dealings with PB - coupla computers that have all gone fine.....graphics cards, power supplies etc.....no probs so far and that goes back several years now......but then you probably know more than I do about them huh?

Will check out the cards when I look tomorrow. Just a little eager to get the camera rolling....

BTW - what do you use the 4Gb card in? My ATC2K only handles 2Gb....the 3k will do 4 but is a little out of price range just now....besides the novelty will probably wear off before too long and I will have to buy another new toy......dammit

I have had years of dealings with pbtech, but its up to you perhaps you have better luck.

Its a bit off topic but allot of the cheap 2gb cards are actually 1gb ones that have been doubled and it shows when you push them by writing info quickly like video or like my canon camera does, currupt files etc etc.

My other video camera takes up to 16gb cards, was going to suggest one of you guys buy my atc2k of me but thats cool, they are very cool little camera's i have uses for it still

Well, see you're too slow off the mark. Should should have let everyone know and you could have made an easy sale. And I can't believe you only just worked out who I was!!

Yip we're keeping it simple. If it ain't broke...

It's gonna be a lot more streamlined in the future and easier to put your 2 cents in for route selection. There are going to be some really great changes and I'm sure you'll all agree, once we get used to them, that we'll really going to start making things happen.

LOL I adapted the above from my "changes for the better" speech for when everyone gets fired due to downsizing.

But the first line is true (if you talk out the bullocks)

leading up to Xmas we have Charity ride this Sunday, Kawhia next Sunday and looking at Coro on 21st. I have an idea for the 14th and will discuss with koz and then we are pretty set to New years. I/we have been looking at the New plymouth trip for a while and were planning to go down during the week before Auckland Anniversary. maybe we can make it that weekend so the Mondays off work as well.

Lets leave the 14th till we get closer. There's no need to plan it this far ahead. lets keep the whole thing "laxed out"

Of course we need to plan out longer trips like the coro loop or a trip to taranaki.
