Did SH43 the other week as part of my holidays still good road to ride, watch for wet tar from the Taumarunui side very, very slippery for @ 20 - 30km... the gravel section that some people dread is rock solid did'nt bother the BB, I was cruising along at 80-90km loaded up with side cases in all !!! from the hotel to Stratford is excellant all the way & a real joy to open the throttle on...ENJOY !!!!!!!
I Used to jog but the ice cubes kept falling out of my glass

Thanks for the info Insomnia and TA. I just want to experience a big group ride, so I'll probably head down myself and see what happens.

Did this section of road again this weekend & I apologise that the 80-90km was incorrect, 60-70km the correct range still choice but...

    Pokeno icecream was brilliant!

    Hope everyone got back safely

does anyone know, if you buy a full exhaust system (not for my bike) is there is more involved than just bolting it on.. do you need to get re tune etc?

If you change the airflow on the in or the out, there's a good chance you will have to change the other side. Allot of people don't do this but you run the risk of running too hot (lean) or too cold (over-fueling)

overfueling is bad because your bike wont run right but lean means that the firing it too hot and you can do serious damage.

Best idea is to get advice from a place like speed-tech or get the specific air-flow of the new system and compare it to the old (if its possible)

Yeah agree with Koz that you need to talk a shop. I know some manufacturers offer some slip-ons that don't need retuning (hence the name). A lot of slip-ons are pretty much only for the noise and not any HP gains. Full system you definitely need retuning because it alters everything.

BTW, anyone here a builder, concrete layer or bobcat driver? Wanting to get the garage done and want the floor down so I can do the rest. Thought I'd check here in case I can throw some money to someone in the group. PM me if you can help and I'll let you know what I'm after.

Now back to our regular programming...
