Dushy posts up a thread guaranteed to cause speculation and light-hearted joshing regardless of where it is posted.

In comes some NON-SMC FOLK who poke a little fun as Dushy.

Dushy majorly over-reacts and says some really unneccessary and dickhead-ish things.

He even accuses the SMC senior member folk of not setting a good example (bollocks really, more bikers should aspire to be like Squiggles/Ross/Andrew).

He then proceeds to /ragequit the SMC when the fact that it was he who dragged this thread downhill was pointed out.

I had no problem with your third post, and I'm pretty sure the majority of KB and SMC members have filthy enough minds not to be offended - 'twas you that went all prudish and deleted it to shield our innocent eyes.

[For the uninitiated - post was something about porn collections and their discovery by 'the mrs' and the question from her perspective as to what one 'did' with the collection followed by the response from you re massaging the purple luncheon truncheon ] I paraphrase here, accuracy is not guaranteed, but I think I get the tone right.

The issue I tried to politely point out was the obvious likelihood of the thread going the way it did, and your subsequent choice to react to it in the way you did.

I meant good hearted community as in the kb community not the smc. I do not intend to hide my dislike of skidmark and this thread was created to be a nice thread about my mother joining the ranks of the biking cimmuity.

You gave our pet troll exactly what he wanted by reacting in the way you did. All I was pointing to was the logical inconsistency of complaining about the slide in tone of the thread and then reinforcing that slide in tone.

As always, everything you do is largely choice: You were invited to throw your toys by SM, and you accepted that invitation.

He knew you would, that's why he targeted you and your thread - a thread that was ripe for this hijack by the way it was pitched.

(I accept that at least one aspect of his 'hilarity' was genuinely offensive - but that could have been dealt with in a way that increased your mana and decreased his had you chosen it)

Alas I believe if I am sliding towards the becoming club pariah it is a sad day for me as I have never intentionally meant to cause disruption though I will admit I have ignitined a few quarrels in my time, but have reinforced the clubs image the best I could with customers at work and members of the biking public.

Truth be told, I am a little regretful about aspects of the tone of my post and some of what I said. I can't take that back now of course.

Ross that was a spectacular apology while maintaining your stance, giving every thread i have read in this forum I didn't expect it... but then again someone who chose the combination of science and law must have some linguistic and reasoning abilities. (no offence intended for anyone taking any other degree.. but there aren't many out there with a science and law degree)

Main point: I definitely think the lesson from this should be: be careful on the internet as what you say may not be taken as you intend it to be received. something humourous can be read very differently
