1989 VTR250 engine, possible swap

Hi Fella's,
I'm in the USA and just bought a Kymco Venox 250. I know the engine was cloned from the earlier Honda 250 Magna. Now I just this day picked up a 1989 VTR 250 engine. Do any of you fella's know if the engine will fit in my Venox frame. My engine visually is VERY close to VTR engine. My Kymco 250 makes 28hp max. Am pretty sure the VTR 250's, were suppose to be around 32 to 35 hp. Can anyone clarify this for me?? The VTR engine is also a six speed and makes more torque, and at a lower rpm, then my bikes engine. Was originally thinking that maybe I could swap some engine parts around between the two engines, But if the complete VTR engine will fit where mine, now lives, think it might be the best way to go. More power, more torque and the six speed tranny. Anyhow those are my thoughts.
Additionally is there any chance one of you could locate me a set of VTR carbs for my engine? They were the only things missing from the engine assembly. I know the Kymco Venox is sold over there so am hoping you may be able to help. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. You all take care and ride safe. ................. Hank G

The problem is the Venox is not at this time officially imported to NZ or AU.
(except possible black market)

There was some talk of it a year ago but we have not heard anything since.

NZ & AU did import the Honda VT250C (same as the Magna 250).
Do not know if they had the VTR imported though.

The Honda VT250 series is wide one. The external casings look more or less unchanged from the mid-80's through to the present day. The pinnacle of the series was the Spada (1988/89 J + K) which was the only one to have a 6 speed box. Some early VTs had very weak oil delivery systems and suffered head/crank issues. Nearly every model had differences and/or improvements, and you are likely to find that the electrics do not transfer well from one to another.
